Dried chamomile flowers are an age-old medicinal herb known in ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome. It is native to Europe, North Africa and some parts of Asia. Many cultures use it as a medicinal plant for its anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-allergenic and sedative properties. It calms nerves and upset stomachs and promotes digestion. Chamomile flowers can also be used to make a yellow-brown fabric dye.
